On 6 February 2023, Turkey was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake marking one of the deadliest seismic events in Turkish history. Over 40,000 people were killed and over 108,000 people sustained injuries. An estimated $84.1 billion worth of damage has been reported. 1.5 million people were made homeless and there is a high need for medical assistance in the region.

FoodChain ID is fundraising for Doctors Without Borders (Médecin Sans Frontières) to raise relief funds for those in Turkey. Doctors Without Borders is a nonprofit organization that operates in over 70 countries around the world. Doctors Without Borders saves lives by providing medical aid where it is needed most - armed conflicts, epidemics, natural disasters, and other crises.
