Norway Spruce, in Time for the Holidays

Norway Spruce, ink pen, colored pencil, watercolor
The Holiday Season is in full swing and for anyone who is celebrating, I hope you had a good 1st Advent. For many of us, coniferous trees are part of Holiday traditions and since we are growing spruces and pines on our property, at some point we are hoping to harvest one of our very own picea abies (Norway spruce) for our Christmas tree! The ones we planted in 2014 have grown so big, one tree would fill up half the house. And the ones we planted a couple of years ago are still very little. Also, one of them looks like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree because the deer thought it was a tasty snack; we expect the tree to recover.
Therefore, next week, we will visit the little country store in our neighborhood and purchase a local tree, and in the meantime you can enjoy the garden notebook's ink pen, waterc0lor and pencil drawing of a Norway Spruce that will last till long after the Holidays!
